How long does delivery take?

We aim to deliver within 7-14 working days, however this does depend on the delivery location. If we think your delivery might take longer than normal, we’ll let you know directly via email.
If you purchase an item that is out of stock, we’ll liaise with you personally about when we expect to dispatch your purchase.

How do I track my order?

Once your order has been placed, you will receive a confirmation email. When we dispatch your order, we’ll email you again, this time with information regarding your tracking number, and when you can expect to receive your delivery.

My order hasn’t arrived – what do I do?

What is Chimpel approach to ethical and sustainable exotic leather?

Chimpel sources exotic leather from authorised, regulated farms and breeders in South Africa. Every single skin is legally and ethically sources, with the utmost care and respect given to specially farmed-animals.

Why does some pieces differ?

The materials used to craft our pieces are of the finest quality, and slight imperfections and colour variations may occasional be possible. These characteristics are completely natural, and simple serve to enhance the unique beauty of each handbag.

How do I care for my product?

Keep in a cool, dry place out of direct sunlight and store in a dust bag provided. Wipe softly with an unblemished cotton cloth in the direction of the scales to clean.
Remove all stains with talcum powder, sprinkling over the area to absorb oil, before gently brushing off. This needs to happen as soon as you see the stain.

Product Warranty

All CHIMPEL products carry a two-year warranty on manufacturing defects. If you believe your product shows signs of a manufacturing defect, please contact info@chimpel.co.za and include the following:

  • Images of your claim item
  • A copy of your invoice
  • CHIMPEL will evaluate and respond to your claim.

Return Policy

CHIMPEL believes in helping its customers as much as possible and agrees to exchange or refund of products purchased and received, provided the following provisions apply.

  • All returns via Courier shall be for the Customer’s account.
  • Any refund or issuing of credit to the Customer will only take place once CHIMPEL has received and processed the return of the products.
  • Returns or exchanges are not offered under any circumstances on bespoke or personalized items.
  • According to The Consumer Protection Act in South Africa, you have the right to cancel your order within five business days after placing it. The ‘Cooling Off’ Period begins from the first business day after which you receive via email confirmation of your order. To exercise your right to cancel, you must inform CHIMPEL in writing by email to info@chimpel.co.za, clearly stating your order information.
  • Items should be returned unused with all the CHIMPEL tags still attached. Returns that are damaged will not be accepted and will be sent back to the Customer at the Customer’s cost and/or a refund refused. Where provided, please ensure that all dust bags and packing is included with the return.
  • CHIMPEL reserves the right to monitor repeated returns and problems from the same Customer and to refuse to service Customers with a repeat-return history.


Domestic Shipping within South Africa
All order will be sent via courier service. Please allow 3 -5 working days for delivery. If an item you’ve bought is out of stock, you may encounter a longer waiting period for delivery. This may take up to 7 - 14 working days, as manufacturing luxury goods to the highest quality takes time and care.
International Shipping
All international orders will be shipped via courier service. Import tax and duties will be applied based on the delivery destination. We require a signature upon delivery.
Please note we are unable to ship any crocodile products at this stage, as this does require specific Cites documentation.
